Mayrise Systems has released an upgrade to its market leading street works software to comply with new legislation from the Department for Transport (DfT). The updated technical specification for the Electronic Transfer of Notices aims to reduce the impact of roadworks, through the co-ordination and sharing of information between local authorities and utility firms. A founding member in the provision of information management software to Street Works professionals, Mayrise Systems has upgraded its managed service customers to the new specification in time for the DfT 1st October implementation date.

“We are delighted to have not only completed the comprehensive upgrade to our systems in accordance with the new specification but we have also transferred our existing Mayrise Online customers to the new system ahead of the DfT implementation date,” commented Nick Smee, CEO of Yotta.

EToN 6 includes a number of enhancements to the previous specification. These include a change to how Inspections are delivered which not only saves money but also allow for the referencing of additional information such as defect photographs. The revised specification also addresses problems with reporting of defective apparatus to utility companies, applications for temporary traffic signals and increased functionality with permit applications. It is estimated by the DfT that usage of the new EToN system could save as much as two thousand work hours a week for councils and utility firms and both sectors are expected to have fully implemented the new specification by April 2014.

“We are delighted to be one of the first street authorities in the country to be fully EToN 6 compliant.” commented Jeff Elliott, Highway and Traffic Manager at Brighton and Hove City Council. “The Mayrise team have been extremely helpful, keeping us informed at every stage of the process and we look forward to working with them to realise the benefits of EToN 6.”

In addition, Phillip Parry, Senior Street Works Officer for Powys and Ceredigion said, ‘We are delighted to be at the forefront of the EToN 6 rollout with this latest upgrade to our managed services, demonstrating why Mayrise are the leading Street Works software supplier in Wales. ‘

Mayrise Street Works is a complete solution for managing street work notices for both highways authorities and statutory undertakers. Handling the Street Works Register, National Street Gazetteer, maintenance, inspections management, defect reporting and locational referencing, the system eliminates paperwork, ensures best practice and provides up to date information on the status of all works. Mayrise Street Works also offers full compliance with the revised EToN 6 specification.

“The process of integration continues at an encouraging pace and our customers have already talked about the positive aspects they have seen as a result,” continued Smee. “I have seen a great deal of passion in their desire to see the Mayrise products further grow, strengthen and continue its leadership position. We will match that passion and will continue to deliver improvements throughout our products and services and ensure that Yotta and the Mayrise products deliver on their expectations”
