Highways and infrastructure technology company, Yotta has introduced a new mobile jobs management application for its industry-leading asset management software suite, Mayrise. The new app has been introduced in response to growing customer demand. It is compatible with the Android operating system (OS), widely deployed in touchscreen mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablets, around the world.

The new app will primarily be used by the Highways Maintenance software component within Mayrise. Manish Jethwa, chief technology officer, Yotta said: “this is the first stage in a gradual opening up of Mayrise to a greater range of mobile devices used by our customers for highways asset management and maintenance, helping support higher levels of remote working and leaner operational processes.

“Equally, it will help to give project teams the opportunity to view, update and complete works orders in real time and achieve enhanced efficiency, together with greater transparency and accuracy on and off-site,” he adds. “The new functionality will also reduce time spent on office paperwork, driving enhanced productivity and saving both time and money on projects.

“Maintenance teams will benefit in particular from the intuitive workflow of the Android version and the user friendly look and feel of the app, which has been developed using Google’s Material Design. The app will offer a similar user experience to other Android apps stored on mobile devices, which will help improve user productivity and lessen training costs,” Jethwa continues.

Key benefits of the new app include the ability to view and update defects and works to be completed and update and add job items to the works order for accurate billing. Mobile jobs management will also enable users to view photos of the defect, or work to be carried out; use the device camera to attach photos; and use mapping to view the location of the works. In addition, it will allow customers to get directions to works via Google Maps and complete and close works orders in real time.

With the Mayrise jobs management functionality now available on mobile devices running the Android OS, Yotta has put plans in place to also move Mayrise’s street works, safety inspections and finally street lighting functions over to the Android OS throughout the course of 2016. As part of its long-term product roadmap, Yotta intends to make Mayrise compatible with multiple mobile platforms including iOS and the complete Windows Mobile OS.
