Highways Expert Joins Yotta

Jonathan Williams, an experienced street works and highways professional, has joined Yotta in the position of Mayrise Product Consultant. Williams will work closely with both existing and potential users of Mayrise Street Works, Highways and Street Lighting software to ensure maximum return on investment and effective and productive use of the Mayrise range of asset management solutions. He will also support councils across the UK as they implement new legislation and working practices including Street Works Permit and Lane Rental schemes.

Williams joins Yotta from Kent County Council where he held a number of positions including, most latterly, Compliance Team Leader. In this role Williams was responsible for the coordination of street works ensuring the County Council carried out its obligations under the Traffic Management Act (TMA) and the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA). This responsibility included the introduction and effective implementation of the Kent Permit and Lane Rental Schemes – both firsts for UK Council’s.

Williams, a graduate in Geography and Geographical Information Systems from the University of Greenwich, joined Kent County Council in 2009 as Roadworks Data Officer. Prior to this he held positions with Medway and Canterbury City Councils as well as roles with Mouchel and Jacobs. During his time at Kent County Council Williams rose through the position of Compliance Officer before being promoted to Compliance Team Leader. In this role his team provided three core functions; policy compliance, financial monitoring and system and performance management.

Williams was also elected, by other Street Authority Custodians, as the joint chair for the South East Regional LSG and as Permit Authority representative on the SEHAUC (South East Highway Authorities and Utilities Committee) working group.
