Yotta Horizons Reaches the Cloud
Yotta has made it easier to procure their Horizons highway asset management software through the Government’s flagship G-Cloud Programme. It means that the Horizons web platform, which integrates GIS, Pavement and Asset Management, can now be purchased without the requirement for lengthy tender processes saving purchasing bodies both time and money. Yotta’s Horizons is already popular with highways authorities and under G-Cloud, the software is more accessible for government departments, local authorities and the wider public sector.
“With over £50m in sales to date, the G-Cloud Framework is clearly becoming the procurement vehicle of choice for UK public sector Cloud services. By gaining a listing for Horizons on the Cloudstore we are able to offer our customers a quicker and simpler procurement process for larger scale deployments,” commented Nick Smee, Managing Director of Yotta.
Sponsored by the Cabinet Office, the G-Cloud is an integral part of the Government’s ICT Strategy. With claims that cloud-based infrastructure and services across government could save £3.2bn of the annual £16bn IT budget the G-Cloud Framework is an initiative intended to increase the adoption and penetration of cloud-based products and services within the UK public sector.
By prequalifying both vendors and services it is hoped the G-Cloud framework will reduce the complexity, time and cost of procurement with a single online catalogue the Cloudstore. Listing all products and services the Cloudstore also aims to provide transparency on service information and pricing with organisations only having to perform local value for money procedures rather than length OJEU tenders.
